MI-FIT Instructors

Amy Holland
Amy Holland began teaching fitness classes in 1985, and was a full time instructor until 1998.  She received her undergraduate degree in Exercise Science in 1990 and has taught a wide variety of fitness classes including: aerobics, step, toning, water fitness, cardiac rehab, senior fitness, personal training and specialized arthritis classes. She completed a Masters in Medical Science in 2000, and has been working as a Physician Assistant since then. She enjoys other unique forms of exercise including gymnastics, Tae Kwon Do and most recently, dancing with MI-Fit's own performance group, The Gemini Collective.  She returned to teaching in 2012 and now teaches toning and FitBarre.

Korry Chavey
Miss Korry has 24+ years of dance training, which include ballet, jazz, modern, pointe, and tap and is also a certified fitness instructor.  She received her dance training from Eastern Michigan University with a Bachelor of Science in Dance, where she was selected as "Dance Major of the Year" in 2008.  While attending EMU, Korry was selected to take her choreography to American College Dance Festival at Ohio University in 2006, and Western Michigan University in 2007.  She also traveled with the EMU dance department in 2008 to Italy, where she performed in faculty choreography, and also had her own choreography performed.  After receiving her degree in dance, she studied with the Mark Morris Dance Group in Brooklyn, New York in 2009.  Growing-up, Korry was a student performer with Youth Dance Theatre of Michigan and more recently, a professional dancer with MamLuft&Co. Dance company in Cincinnati, Ohio.  Along with teaching primarily ballet and modern at Michigan Academy of Dance and Music, Korry also teaches a wide variety of fitness classes for MI-FIT.

Lisa Feight
Raised in Mt. Pleasant, Lisa Feight graduated with a BA in Early Childhood Development with a minor in Communication Disorders. She recently moved to the Ann Arbor area and works at the University of Michigan North Campus Children's center. Lisa has over 18 years of dance training, starting from the age of 3. She recently managed a dance studio in the Mt. Pleasant area, coached a high school dance team, as well as teaching classes. She received her Zumba certification in July 2011 and her ZumbAtomic training in August 2012. She is very passionate about the MI-Fit program and her students!

Amy Hutchison
Amy Hutchison has practiced yoga for over 10 years and has taught for the last 5. She has studied styles including Hatha, Vinyassa, Kundalini and most recently becam certified at RussaYog of Ann Arbor, a rope-based yoga school.  A 2012 graduate of Kalamazoo College, she taught yoga classes and workshops to fellow students and has since taught classes to all ages and levels in the Ann Arbor community. 

A classically trained dancer since childhood, Ms Hutchison has danced and performed with Saginaw Valley Dancers, The Farrell Ballet Theatre and currently with People Dancing of Ann Arbor. She has studied with Detroit Dance Collective as well as with the Michigan Dance Project, and recently had the opportunity to study the Paul Taylor technique and repertoire at their summer intensive.  She has found yoga and dance to be very complimentary and is thrilled to share these art forms with students.

Christina Naegeli
Christina Naegeli has been involved with Zumba for 5 years. She graduated high school from Brazil, where her family is living, and came to the University of Michigan to study Neuroscience. In 2011, after returning from a trip to work at an orphanage in Sri Lanka, she decided to get Zumba-certified, to raise money to be able to have more experiences working abroad. Most recently, she adventured to Brazil for 6 months, to work at an orphanage there and continue with Zumba. These days Christina is saving up for a trip next summer to China! She says, "I think dancing is one of the best exercises out there and love the way Zumba incorporates the dance world and the fitness world."
