Renu Gupta-Bertsch

Renu (Re) Gupta-Bertsch began her training in RAD ballet tradition, and since has studied a wide variety of western and world-dance styles-- ballet, modern, jazz, hip hop, tap, college-step, African, Haitian, salsa, samba, kathak and bharatanatyam-- from some of the world’s foremost dancers. An alumnus of Community High School’s own CHS Dance Body, her additional dance training includes Interlochen Center for the Arts, Broadway Dance Center, BalletArts at New York City Center, The PULSE, and Kala Nivedanam.
 
Formerly the Company Manager of NYC's Bollywood Axion, and Founder/Artistic Director of the internationally-acclaimed Bollywood West-- Denver and Boulder's first and largest bollywood and indian-fusion dance studio-- which was voted Best of Denver by Westword magazine. The Bollywood West dance troupe has appeared on the red carpet for Slumdog Millionaire, performed for the Mayor of Denver, and was the first bollywood dance troupe to ever perform at NBA halftime. Renu’s master classes and workshops remain in high-demand, regionally and nationwide, after being featured in the New York Times, Washington Post, and on MSNBC, and her choreography is being performed internationally as the finale dance number in the Up With People tour. She has choreographed and prepared dancers for auditions with So You Think You Can Dance, The PULSE on Tour, and America’s Got Talent.



Barb Figurski

Barb Figurski loves to sweat!  That's the only explanation for a woman who has dedicated most of her life, both professionally and personally, to staying active.

Barb was a fitness directore for twelve years at Eastern Michigan University.  She left there in 2008 to devote her time to running Balanced by Fitness.  She started personal training in 1996 .  Along with many others Barb was a personal trainer and fitness specialist for CEO of Domino's Pizza, Tom Monahan.  During the last 15 years Barb has also trained collegiate athletes in pre-season conditioning at Western Michigan University, University of Michigan and Eastern Michigan University. 

Barb has completed 12 marathons including the Boston Marathon 2003, 2004 and 2006. Along with numerous short course and sprint triathlons, Barb finished the Lake Placid Ironman 2006 and the WTC World Championship Half Ironman 2006.  She was selected to participate in the Fitness Reality Show "Extreme Warrior" 2006. 

Simply put Barb is passionate about fitness and training. 




Amy Hutchison

Amy Hutchison has practiced yoga for over 10 years and has taught for the last 5. She has studied styles including Hatha, Vinyassa, Kundalini and most recently becam certified at RussaYog of Ann Arbor, a rope-based yoga school.  A 2012 graduate of Kalamazoo College, she taught yoga classes and workshops to fellow students and has since taught classes to all ages and levels in the Ann Arbor community.  A classically trained dancer since childhood, Ms Hutchison has danced and performed with Saginaw Valley Dancers, The Farrell Ballet Theatre and currently with People Dancing of Ann Arbor. She has studied with Detroit Dance Collective as well as with the Michigan Dance Project, and recently had the opportunity to study the Paul Taylor technique and repertoire at their summer intensive.  She has found yoga and dance to be very complimentary and is thrilled to share these art forms with students.



Korry Chavey
Korry received her training from Eastern Michigan University with a Bachelor of Science in Dance, where she was selected as "Dance Major of the Year" in 2008.  Along with instructing dance, Korry is a fitness instructor and perioperative assistant.  Korry has training in modern techniques, including Graham and Cunningham, as well as 22 years of ballet training.  She was a student performer with Youth Dance Theater of Michigan and more recently, a professional dancer with MamLuft&Co Dance Company in Cincinnati.



John Loudermilk

John is a fire-medic for the City of Taylor. He lives in Dexter and has 3 children in Dexter Community Schools. John has always been athletic and constantly seeks out new challenges to test his abilities. John runs marathons and ultra distance trail runs. He’s tried adventure racing and has completed several IronMan triathlons. In the near future John would like to do Leadville and Bad Waters.

John enjoys training clients, helping them build strength and endurance, and achieve things they didn’t think they could. In his free time John enjoys sleeping, eating chocolate chip cookies, spending time with family, and taking his Bullmastiff to the dog park.




Angela Loudermilk 
over 20 years experience

STOTT PILATES® trained Angela began teaching fitness classes in college. After discovering the benefits of pilates sought certification to share her experience. Angela enjoys creating challenging workouts for her groups, customizing workouts to individuals, and watching clients progress.

Angela knows first hand how challenging it is to balance family, career, and fitness. In addition to teaching she works at Thomson Reuters, has three active children, and recently completed an IronMan triathlon. Angela offers mind-body fitness options, the flexibility of group class as well as private appointment scheduling to help people find balance and inspiration.
